Home Again and Trying to Heal

Wow, it's been a while since I've felt good enough to even touch the computer, so here's a little progress.

Last week we headed back to Banner Gateway for my second surgery. See my last post for details on what the surgery was for.
Surgery went well and I actually felt decent after surgery, much better than when I had visitors right after my first surgery. I had a couple visitors and it was nice to see them.
Jodi and Clint brought me some delicious spaghetti. I didn't have much but it hit the spot.

I was discharged the next day. I still felt ok, so I felt good about getting home to my own bed.
That night it hit me. I felt like a complete zombie and for 3 days straight. I didn't want visitors, and didn't have the energy for absolutely anything. It's the worst feeling when you are completely and utterly hopeless and you don't even feel like a living being. I've just felt like a body just laying in bed. We talked to the doctor and they said my body has gone through so much within one week's time, so my body will be extra tired. I have felt so bad for Tanner because he's been doing absolutely everything for this sad little lump on a log (me) and he's getting nothing in return, although I know he will receive many blessings for his strength and sacrifice. It took so much energy just to keep a conversation, so most of my talking has been "can you help me", "can you do this for me", etc. Kaydence has also been such a good helper. She's constantly asking me how I am doing and asking me to blow on my breathing treatment thing-a-maggigger. She's handling it very well.

Yesterday I felt like getting out so my sweet cousin Tanya let me borrow a wheelchair, which is actually my grandpa's old one, so I was excited to use it. We were going to go out to Ross, just to get out but by the time we got there I felt nauseous, and so we went home. I took another nap and woke up and feeling little better, so we watched "A Goofy Movie", thanks to my sister in law Rachel and during the movie I think is the first laugh I had in the past 3 days. It was a pitiful laugh, but it felt so good. We had a decent evening considering how I've felt the past few days.

As I laid in my brother's bed last night all by my lonesome, (my Mom had already come down for her nightly "rub my feet time". Thanks Mom!), I updated my status on Facebook "I hate this whole sleeping alone thing". Within minutes my Mom and sister, Nicole come down and to rub my feet again, get me a warm rice bag and make me feel good so I could get some good rest, as the next day was a big day. They were so sweet. I had no idea how efficient Facebook can be for room service.

This morning I had to wake up at 6:00am for my second egg retrieval surgery. Tanner and I also had a small little answer to our prayers this morning. I won't go into detail, but it's special to us. So surgery went well and I woke up to the doctor telling me that he was able to get 5 eggs! Such good news to wake up to! Our prayers and being answered one after another. They have to survive the fertilization process, then the freezing process for the next 4 or 5 days. I will be happy with whatever we get and I know whatever we get is meant to me. Blessed blessed blessed!

I am hoping to heal in the next couple weeks before I start chemotherapy. I am meeting with my doctors tomorrow morning to follow up with surgery and hopefully remove a couple more of these drains. It will help me to feel like a person again without these drains hanging from my armpits. Tomorrow I will find out when I'm getting my port put in my chest. This will be access for my chemotherapy so I don't have to get poked with an IV every time I get my treatment. I'm not looking forward to it, but I'm bracing myself. One step at a time. I can face this better by taking it day by day and trying to celebrate small successes, even if it's as pathetic as a bowel movement(yes constipation is one of the fun side effects I get with my meds).

Thanks for the continued prayers. I definitely can use the prayers and I have the hand of the Lord through my journey so far.
