Kaydence absolutely LOVES animals, especially dogs. She also gets very attached. Many of you know my sister, Alissa's, dog Hazel. She has been in the family pretty much since I was in high school. She's been there through the thick and thin and has always been at Alissa's side. She was attached by a coyote April 10th and that ended her life here on earth, but we all know she is up in Heaven having a feast with Missi and Rascal. Death is such a hard thing to explain to children. Kaydence kind of understood it all, but she had such a hard time accepting the fact that Hazel wasn't going to move again. She was so sweet, she couldn't leave Hazel's side when we had her in the box waiting to bury her. She kept going back and every time she saw her she would start crying again. Then we would settle her down and she would say how cute Hazel looks and how she's in heaven with Heavenly Father now. I explained to her that we will bury her body to protect it so that when we all get resurrected, her spirit can come down to reunite with her body so she can live again. Even though it was a very rough day, it was such a good experience for Kaydence to go through to help her understand how life goes on after this life and that death is only the beginning of our journey in the eternities. We sure miss Hazel here, but we will all look forward to the day we will see her again. Rest in Peace Hazel.
